Extra costs to watch for
Apartment and condo moves come with line items a house move never sees. Budget for these beyond the crew:
- Certificate of Insurance (COI). Most coastal condos and managed buildings want a COI from your mover before move day. We turn these around the same day at no cost. If your building adds its own move-in/move-out fee, that runs $125–$325 paid directly to the building.
- Elevator reservation. High-rises in downtown San Diego and the Carlsbad/Oceanside coast often require a freight-elevator booking, sometimes with a refundable deposit ($225–$575). We coordinate the window; the deposit is between you and the building.
- Long carry. We do not charge a long-carry fee, but if the truck cannot park within about 75 feet of your door, the job runs a little longer, which the flat rate reflects.
- Parking permits. In downtown Oceanside, a temporary no-parking permit through the city runs around $30 per day. We handle the paperwork with 72 hours notice.
- Packing materials. Need boxes and tape? We sell them at cost, and a typical 1-bedroom kit runs about $90. Full packing starts around $325 for a one-bedroom.

Can you do a move-out and move-in the same day?
