Common questions
Below are the questions we hear most from Oceanside and North County customers. If yours isn’t here, call us at (888) 711-4778 or email [email protected] and we’ll walk you through it.
Are you a moving company?
Yes — Buzzing Along Movers is a fully licensed and insured local moving company based in Oceanside, CA. We run our own trucks and uniformed crews on every job, with California CPUC (Cal-T) and USDOT/MC authority on file. Nothing is subcontracted; the crew that quotes your move is the crew that does it.
How does your pricing work?
We quote a flat rate, not an open-ended hourly meter. After we see what you're moving, we put a fixed price in writing, and the price quoted is the price paid. There's no surprise fuel surcharge, stair fee, or long-carry add-on tacked on after the truck is loaded.
Do you require a deposit?
You don't pay anything to get a quote. For local moves we typically book without a deposit; for long-distance routes or large specialty jobs we may ask for a small deposit to reserve the truck and crew on your date. We'll tell you exactly what's required before you commit, in writing.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold a California CPUC (Cal-T) license for intrastate moves and USDOT/MC authority for interstate moves. We're licensed, bonded, and insured, and we carry $1 million in cargo coverage. We're happy to share our license numbers and a certificate of insurance on request.
How early do I need to book?
For local North County moves, a week or two of lead time usually lets you pick the date you want, though we can sometimes handle short-notice jobs. Long-distance routes and the busy end-of-month and summer PCS windows fill up faster, so reach out as early as you can to lock in your spot.
Can you provide a Certificate of Insurance for my building or HOA?
Yes, and we do it constantly for coastal condos and gated communities in Carlsbad, Encinitas, and Solana Beach. Send us your building's COI requirements and any gate-access or elevator-reservation details, and we'll have the certificate issued to your HOA or property manager before moving day.
What's included in a move?
Your flat rate covers the truck, fuel, the uniformed crew, basic furniture disassembly and reassembly, and standard moving blankets and shrink wrap to protect your items. We'll lay out exactly what's included on your written quote so there's no guessing about what you're paying for.
What is your cancellation policy?
Plans change, and we get it. You can cancel or reschedule a local move with reasonable notice at no charge. If a deposit was required for a long-distance or specialty job, we'll explain the refund terms when you book. Just give us a call as soon as you know so we can adjust the schedule.
Do you handle long-distance moves out of California?
Yes. With USDOT/MC interstate authority, we run regular routes from Oceanside to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Denver. Kai Watson leads our long-distance crew, and these moves get the same flat-rate written quote as a local job.
Do you offer storage?
Yes. If your closing dates don't line up or your new place isn't ready, we can store your belongings short-term and deliver when you are. Let us know your timeline when you call and we'll fold the storage into your written quote.
What do you do if something ends up damaged?
We work hard to make sure it doesn't, but if an item is damaged in our care, contact our office and we'll start a claim right away. We carry $1 million in cargo coverage, and Brianna will walk you through the process. We'd rather make it right than argue about it.
Can you help with a military PCS or DITY move?
Absolutely — military families are a big part of who we serve out of Camp Pendleton. We handle the PPM/DITY weight-ticket paperwork your reimbursement requires, work around report dates, and quote a flat rate so you know your out-of-pocket before the truck rolls.
