Pianos move differently, so we do too
A piano is hundreds of pounds of awkward weight with a finish that scratches if you look at it wrong. Tavo Ramirez leads our specialty crew, and pianos are most of what he does. Boards, straps, a climate cover, and enough trained hands to keep control on every stair.
What the price covers
The right gear for your instrument, a padded climate cover, leg and lyre disassembly on grands, careful stair and doorway work, and a flat written price set by piano type before we arrive.
How the move goes
We measure the path first, including door widths and the tight turn at the bottom of the stairs, then cover and strap the piano and walk it out under control. Uprights stay upright on a four-wheel skid; baby grands and full grands come down to a padded board with the legs and pedal lyre removed and wrapped separately. In the truck the piano rides secured on its own so nothing else leans against it on the SR-76 grades.
What is NOT included
We move and place pianos; we do not tune them. After a move, plan on a tuner once the instrument settles into the temperature of its new room, usually a couple of weeks. We also will not move a piano with active structural damage to the case or a cracked leg without a heads-up first, since that changes how we strap it.
Price guidance
Upright pianos run $250 to $400, baby grands $350 to $550, and full grands $500 to $900, with the exact figure set by stairs, doorway width, and access at both ends.
